Safety, ergonomics and human factors

For more than 50 years, Intergo has been realising multidisciplinary safety focused projects especially in the international transport sector (rail, water, road, air), industry and health care.

Intergo applies deep knowledge of human behaviour to enable companies to perform successfully. This is particularly done in safety-critical environments.

Evidence-based methods and expertise is used from real world successes as well as the behavioural sciences to enable safe and successful performance. Intergo has a team of registered Ergonomists, Human Factors, and Safety Consultants / trainers as well as an extensive network of experts.

Incident investigations

LFI24 is an investigation and analysis network organisation specialised in independent incident investigation. In case of emergencies the network is available on a 24/7 basis. LFI24 has experts familiar with well-known accident techniques such as Tripod and BFA. They offer extensive knowledge for understanding human factors in relation to incidents.

Human error is often quoted as the ‘source’ of many accidents. Whilst acknowledging that human error often triggers incidents, LFI24 emphasises that these human errors do not occur in isolation.  They are influenced by external (organisational or environmental) factors.

Academy

The Human Safety Academy is focused on educating and developing already task-competent professionals in the domain of safety. Training is offered in the field of incident investigation, risk prevention, culture and behaviour and safety in design.

In addition to broadly applicable training courses, the Human Safety Academy also offers specific training courses for specific sectors such as rail, maritime, healthcare and for operating bridges and locks.

Research

Human Safety Alliance activities in consultancy, incident investigation and training are supported by the execution of scientific research in the domain of human factors & safety.

The research activities include own investments, contract research, subsidised research, literature / desk research, writing papers and presenting results.
